Ardens Summaries
The Ardens Quality Review Group is planning to alter the Ardens Summaries that are exported to Word. The reason for this alteration is that the majority of practices in the County summarise records in a different way. This document details the recommended way of entering Clinical Summaries in Gloucestershire. You can also look at the proposed changes on the ‘favourites section’ of the communications as shown in the screen shot below.

Please could practices take part in a short survey, so the review group can look at the implications of the alterations needed to be made in Ardens.
Away from my desk
As part of the COVID response to assist remote working, the CCG funded some additional licences to temporarily support the surge in demand for remote working capabilities. If you have decided not to use Away from My Desk (AFMD) could you please arrange to return any tokens provided to the practice in recent months by emailing the Digital Transformation Team (scwcsu.glosdt@nhs.net).

For those practices that are using AFMD, a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) has been drafted and circulated to practices. Please note the following:

 Each practice as the data controller is responsible for reviewing and completing Section 6 ‘Describe the risk management measures agreed (what, why, who, when), including how they will be implemented. Practices who do not complete Section 6, or who accept the drafted version but do not follow the mitigations will do so at their own risk as the data controller.

 Please note that Smartcard terms of use require it to be ‘private and secure and that you will not permit anybody else to use it or to establish any session with the NHS Care Records Service applications’. This DPIA therefore is written on the basis that tasks or processes that require access to the Spine (PDS) are not carried out using ‘Away from My Desk’.

 The DPIA has been written on the basis of two factor authentication (Password plus token). The CCG Digital Transformation Team will be in touch over the next two weeks to confirm those details, enable that functionality and distribute additional tokens where required.

Please note, any new requests or issues with access should now be addressed directly to Away from My Desk. View more information on Away from My Desk support and guidance for individual users.
