 CYBER ALERT-MS Teams

Please be aware of a phishing email currently doing the rounds. The email, usually titled ‘Theres new activity in Teams’ (note the missing apostrophe), states that ‘your teammates are trying to reach you.’ It also includes a ‘reply in teams’ button which will take you to a fake website and harvest your information.

If you receive an email like this, please do not click the button or supply your credentials. Instead, open your local Teams application and check there for any missed activity. You may have noted the missing apostrophe in the email subject. Such an error is one way to spot a malicious email, along with a sense of urgency or a suggestion that you are missing out on something, and, most importantly, any request for your username and password.

You can also report the incident by forwarding the email as an attachment to spamreports@nhs.net or call the IT Support desk for assistance via 0300 422 2808 (especially if you think you may have been a victim of this attack and provided your credentials).
