DESCRIPTION:
Prescriptions created using an updated smartcard with the SHA2 certificate are not able to be dispensed at a Lloyds Pharmacy or via the Pharmacy 2U service.

SUMMARY OF IMPACT:
Prescriptions created using an updated smartcard with the SHA2 certificate are not able to be dispensed at a Lloyds Pharmacy or via Pharmacy 2U and are returning an 'invalid digital signature' error.

CURRENT UPDATES:

21 September 2020 The service continues to be monitored and users with any outstanding issues are being contacted to ensure timely completion of the remedial actions.

17 September 2020 - McKesson have performed remedial actions on their application server that have yielded positive results, and prescriptions are being successfully processed by their system. The issue is being closely monitored to ensure that the remedial actions have resolved the issue successfully.

16 September 2020 NHS Digital continue to work closely with McKesseon to identify the root cause. NHS Digital have contacted the majority of affected prescribing services and continue to communicate a workaround and are monitoring the uptake and implementation of this. The number of outstanding affected smartcards continues to decrease.

14 September 2020Microsoft technical teams continue to carry out investigations.

8 September 2020 NHS Digital continue to work closely with McKesseon to identify the root cause. NHS Digital have contacted the majority of affected prescribing services and continue to communicate to the remaining a workaround and are monitoring the uptake and implementation of this.  Positive Solution have also been identified as experiencing the issue and are implementing an update this evening with an aim to resolve the issue for their prescribers.
